Hey everybody, I am Timothy B. Fling. I am a writer and creator. For reasons that are unclear, sometimes people call me Holden. Some of you may already be aware of my publishing efforts, usually I am making great comics over on the Kickstarter platform. Thanks for joining me here on Substack! Get ready to switch gears with me one more time.

But first- I wanted to outline my strategy, and explain what we hope to accomplish.

Why are we entering the world of Substack?

I am attempting to find new ways to engage with readers, retailers, and collectors. Earth Dog Studios now offers original media programming in several forms, and we desire to diversify our outlets. On Substack, we will publish only our own content; raw, unedited, and for the most part, unavailable anywhere else. Readers, please let me know what you think of our proposed line-up.

Earth’s Mightiest Substack is comprised of five killer categories.

1. EARTH DOG STUDIOS EVENTS- All the latest and greatest news about our upcoming comics, the new novels, crowdfunding campaigns, convention schedules, and editing services.

2. SINGULARITIES- Substack will be the exclusive publishing platform for this new series of short essays. Comprised of observations about life and family, these shorts will eventually be anthologized into a prose volume. Look to see this collected edition published in 2025.

3. HOLDEN’S ELEVEN- For those that like Comics, Movies, Post-Apocalyptic Literature, Cryptids, or Heavy Metal, these lists will thrill pop culture enthusiasts and professional arguers.… Join us!

3. THE CREATIVE CRANIUM- A cavalcade of today’s hottest stars discuss issues facing the creative community, and the tribulations of making stuff in general. There will be a significant emphasis on supporting creators. This is a great resource for people making Kickstarters.

4. THE COLLECTOR’S CORNER- This program takes a look at the treasures of comic collecting- from the Golden Age to the present. Comic Books, Original Art, Vintage Toys, you never know what you might find!

5. BEHIND THE SCENES SHENANIGANS- A peek behind the curtain at Earth Dog Studios. I will post process art, script revisions, and character sketches! See what we make… and how we make it! For example, our backers will be the first to see Erwin Arroza’s stunning new process art from Call of the Cryptid II.
